Footage of days gone by from our seaside resorts, fishing industries and lifeboat heroes will be screened at a special one-off event in Lowestoft tonight.
Creative Arts East has partnered with Lowestoft Library to celebrate the history of Norfolk and Suffolk's splendid coastline through the screening of three new archive film compilations commissioned as part of the British Film Institute's (BFI) Britain on Film project.
The films, which highlight seaside holiday-making, local fishing industries and a look into how our coast is protected, will be presented by former Anglia TV presenter Eddie Anderson, who is also the narrator.
First shown in Felixstowe earlier this month, the screening will take place tonight at the library in Clapham Road South at 6pm.
The footage has been lovingly restored and compiled into three twenty minute long features. The films, commissioned by Creative Arts East, have used footage supplied by the East Anglian Film Archive to retain these important historical records of our own region's working and social past.
