A Lowestoft primary school opened as normal today (Wednesday) after a 'small isolated' dishwasher blaze.
Firefighters from Lowestoft South and North Lowestoft were called to Woods Loke Primary School, in Butley Drive, Oulton Broad at 5.04pm last night (Tuesday).
The crews were called out following reports of a dishwasher fire in the school's staff room. They quickly put out the flames and the staff room area was ventilated to clear smoke, with the scene clear by 5.31pm.
In a statement on the school's website, headteacher Mark Prentice said: 'Last night there was a small isolated fire in the staff room. The fire brigade have deemed it safe to return to school, and the school is open as normal.'
