A YOUNG Lowestoft woman whose boyfriend died after suffering a seizure has organised a fund-raising music night in his memory.

Alexandra Gough, 19, of London Road South, has arranged for bands and friends of Oliver Scott-Greenard, to perform next Saturday, August 18, with the proceeds going to the charity Epilepsy Action.

Oliver – known to friends as Ollie – suffered a seizure less than a week before his death at the age of 19 last November, having been previously diagnosed with epilepsy.

The charity gig is at being held at 25, St John's Street, Lowestoft, from 6pm with people being asked to pay an entrance fee as a donation to the charity. Among the acts performing will be Ollie's sister Isobel, 13, and the band Actor and the Peach.

Alexandra, a former Kirkley High School student who is studying at Kingston University in Surrey, told The Journal: 'I want to hold a night to remember Ollie through music, as music was a big part of his life.

'All of the people performing knew Ollie, including his sister Isobel. I am really looking forward to getting all of Ollie's friends and family under one roof to remember him and the good times we shared and come together for each other. I hope it will be a fun night to get everyone singing and dancing in memory of Ollie.'

Ollie, who lived at Ormesby St Margaret, near Great Yarmouth, died on November 29 last year at Easton College in Norfolk where he was a student. After his death, a fund-raising campaign was set up as a tribute to him, with nearly 9,000 collected so far for Epilepsy Action which provides advice and support to the 600,000 people in UK who have the condition.

Kath Barker, fund-raising officer at Epilepsy Action, said: 'We are very grateful to Alexandra and Oliver's family and friends for fund-raising for Epilepsy Action.

'The money they have raised in Oliver's memory will make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by epilepsy. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved.'
