A man was today described as 'stable' in hospital after being admitted with 'life-threatening' injuries after a road crash in which another man died on the weekend.
The man, in his early 20s from the Lowestoft area, was the driver of a Renault Clio involved in a collision on the A17 in Clenchwarton, near King's Lynn, at about 10.15pm on Saturday.
His front seat passenger, a man in his late teens and also from the Lowestoft area, died as a result of the collision.
Norfolk police said a blue Clio was travelling towards Sutton Bridge, when, about half a mile west of the Pullover roundabout, it was in collision with a red Peugeot 406 heading in the opposite direction.
As reported, the emergency services and a Magpas helicopter raced to the scene and fire-fighters from King's Lynn and Terrington St Clement then rescued three people who were trapped in the cars using hydraulic rescue equipment.
The Magpas Helimedix team treated the unconscious patient at the scene before he was taken by land ambulance to Addenbrooke's Hospital, in Cambridge, where his condition was described as life-threatening last night.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) are appealing for witnesses to the accident.
