A LOWESTOFT man who robbed an 82-year-old pensioner after knocking him to the ground has been warned that he faces 'a significant' prison term when he is sentenced next month.
Jay Jenkins, 39, of London Road South, admitted committing the robbery on November 2 when he appeared at Ipswich Crown Court last yesterday (Thursday).
The court heard that Jenkins had continued attacking the 82-year-old victim after knocking him to the ground and then stole a case from him containing his glasses and cash.
Adjourning the case for three weeks for a pre-sentence report, Judge David Goodin described the offence as serious and warned Jenkins that he faced a significant prison sentence.
He remanded him in custody until the sentencing hearing.
