A 24-year-old Lowestoft man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.
Police stopped a vehicle in St Peters Street and the two occupants - the 24-year-old man and a woman – were detained for a drugs search around 5.50pm yesterday, Tuesday March 1, but the man fled.
Officers arrested the man a few moments later and wraps containing a substance believed to be controlled drugs were recovered, along with mobile phones.
He was taken into custody where he was interviewed in connection with possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.
He has now been bailed to return to police on May 4, to allow further enquiries to be carried out.
