A hair-raising stunt to raise funds for the organisation dear to his heart has raised a significant sum for a life saving charity.
Andy Smith has been a crew member on Lowestoft lifeboat for more than six years and he decided to go crazy with his hair to benefit the RNLI.
Mr Smith said: 'I decided to grow my hair for six months and to have it dyed multi colours and then to have a sponsored haircut as a way of raising funds.
'I own a fast food unit called 'On a Roll' in Hamilton Road and my customers have been really supportive and together with my friends at The Lady of the Lake and The Carlton pubs we managed to raise £758 for the lifeboat.'
After a recent Sunday morning lifeboat exercise a cheque was handed over to Nigel Lyman, deputy second coxswain of the lifeboat.
