So when 10-year-old Charlotte Saunders from Lowestoft heard about The Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides free real hair wigs to girls and boys affected by illness, she decided to donate some of her extremely long hair.

Her family also set up a fundraising page for people to sponsor the effort and raised £732.50.

On November 22, Charlotte had 12 inches of hair cut off, which will be sent to the charity to be made into a wig, along with the money that has been raised.

Parents Bev and Mark Saunders said: 'Charlotte loves her new look; we are very proud of her for doing this and for being so kind & thoughtful.'

'We'd like to thank everyone for their support.'
