Lorry sheds skip on main road

Police will close the main road between Dereham and Watton for a couple of hours today to recover a skip that fell off the back of a lorry.
The three-tonnes skip carrying scrap came off an Easco lorry at 9.30am and slid along the road into a 400-year-old cottage on the A1075 Church Close in Shipdham, near Dereham.
Police said that a lock on the trailer bolts appears to be sheared, leading to the skip tipping onto the road as the lorry went round the corner next to All Saints Church.
The cottage appears to be undamaged but structural engineers are checking the building.
One lane of the road was open this morning but it is expected to be closed until the early afternoon while the skip and its contents are recovered.
Diversions are expected to be put in place through Necton and at Dereham.
