Police said the lorry was involved in a collision with a property in Station Road, Harleston, just before 9.30am.

No-one else has been hurt. The brown UPS lorry has come to rest against the front porch of the semi-detached bungalow after ploughing through a garden wall.

Carol Wiles lives next door to the house, which is the home of her son John.

“I was up in the bedroom when I heard a bang and the house shook,” she said.

“I knew that was something bad. That’s my wall he has come through. I could see it had come through and hit John’s.”

Mrs Wiles said emergency services were quickly on the scene.

She added: “I love this town because everyone has been ringing us to ask if we’re OK.”

Mr Wiles was not in the house at the time. The impact has left cracks along the hallway and to the bathroom wall of his house.

Police said Station Road would be closed while the vehicle is being recovered.

Norfolk fire service said crews from Harleston and Long Stratton attended a road traffic collision on Station Road.

They provided services and casualty care and also carried out scene safety.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance service said: “An ambulance was called to Station Road Harleston this morning shortly after 9.30am (Nov 2) following reports of a road traffic collision.

“A man was assessed at the scene, but did not require ambulance transport.”

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
