Members of the Fakenham Choral Society have said goodbye to long-standing musical director Janet Kelsey, who left her role on October 2.

Ms Kelsey joined the Fakenham Choral Society in the autumn of 2004, making her debut as director at that year's Christmas concert, which included a selection of festive pieces arranged for brass and voices.

During her tenure with the society she has directed more than 30 concerts including Haydn's Creation, Rutter's Requiem, Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial By Jury and other offerings by Purcell, Bach, Britten, Vivaldi and even Lennon and McCartney.

Her final concert was a successful production of Carl Orff's iconic Carmina Burana which took place at Wells Parish Church in June.

New musical director Mark Jones will be presenting the society's next concert which will be a traditional Christmas performance in Fakenham Parish Church on Saturday December 15 at 7:30pm.
