Loddon panto proves perfect place for Amy’s Guides promise

During the interval of the 36th annual Loddon pantomime recently, the village's local Guides troop saw its newest member sworn in.

With the 1st Loddon and Chedgrave Guides all attending Dick Whittington, being performed at the Lecture Hall, on George Lane, 10-year-old Amy Framingham, from Loddon, made her promise for enrolment into the Guides with guide leader, Julie Wilson.

Julie explained: 'It's a ceremony that every Guide goes through when they enrol to make their promise and they are supposed to choose where they want to do it.

'It is meant to be a kind of mountain-top moment, something special that they will remember, and Amy chose to do it at the pantomime because we were all there.

'So we got up on the stage in the interval in front of everyone, and they even shone the spotlight on her, and she made her promise very clearly and confidently.'
