Where is your village ranked on Norfolk County Council’s footpath waiting list?

The council ranks requests by carrying out traffic surveys and looking at accident data before coming up with a score.

The list is used as a guide meaning the five paths at the top of the list will not necessarily be completed this year and those further down the list may be built before paths ranked above them.

A Norfolk County Council spokesman said: 'In drawing up the actual construction programme, there are further factors and complications that may prevent a scheme going ahead, or bring it forward.

'With the best will in the world, some high priority schemes simply may not be deliverable. Some may simply not be affordable within the available funding.

'On the other hand, a lower-cost, lower priority scheme may brought forward because it is affordable and can be slotted in to the programme. External factors such as the need to acquire land, or local objections, can also delay progress.'

Schemes being delivered in 2012 and 2013 include Silfield Road in Wymondham, Rollesby Road in Martham, and a footway and cycle path at Vauxhall bridge, Great Yarmouth.
