More than three weeks of work on a Norwich road will start next month, to make improvements for cyclists and pedestrians.

The work, in the area around the Fifers Lane/Heyford Road roundabout is due to start on Monday, September 4 and will last until Tuesday, September 22.

It will see a new raised table for the existing shared use zebra crossing on the western arm of the roundabout and reconstruction of raised tables in Heyford Road and Ives Road.

Council bosses say it will calm traffic, improve road safety for all road users and improve facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.

The work will be done overnight, with four-way traffic lights on Fifers Lane roundabout between 7pm and 6am on weekdays.

The scheme is part of the Transport for Norwich project, which has already seen changes in roads such as Golden Ball Street, Tombland, Grapes Hill and Rouen Road.
