Five more market towns are to be studied to establish what the impact of extra homes will have on traffic.

With 190,000 people living in the county's market towns, Norfolk County Council chiefs are keen to make sure they are 'future fit' with transport networks which will support future growth.

Last year, councillors agreed to a programme of studies looking at the impacts of growth in such towns and have been analysing Dereham, Thetford, North Walsham, Diss and Swaffham.

Studies and work in those towns have identified a number of priorities, which the council will draw on when considering what contributions will be needed from developers in the future.

And at Friday's meeting of the council's environment, development and transport committee, it was agreed the next places to be studied will be Aylsham, Downham Market, Fakenham, Wroxham/Hoveton and Wymondham.
