Two major housing developments which could add more than 170 homes to the Norwich area go before councillors next week - with both recommended for approval.
Broadland District Council's planning committee will decide on Wednesday whether land in Little Plumstead and in Taverham should be developed, with major projects for both seeking outline planning permission.
The largest of the two proposals - in terms of house numbers - is for land off Beech Avenue in Taverham, which would see a residential development of up to 93 homes.
The development would make use of land bordering the grounds of Wensum Valley Hotel, Golf and Country Club, with access via a new junction on Beech Avenue.
The proposals include a new village green area, allotments and provisions for 33 affordable homes.
An officer's report on the plans say 13 responses to the application were received, raising a number of concerns. Among these were fears over increased traffic, some of the homes being three storeys high and that the proposed access is too close to other junctions.
A similar number of homes are proposed for land west of Salhouse Road in Little Plumstead, with outline permission sought for a development of up 84 homes.
Accessible from a new T junction on Salhouse Road, the proposals also include a new roundabout where the road meets Norwich Road, Honeycombe Road and Belt Road.
The scheme also sets out that a third of the new homes would be affordable housing.
The plans received 15 responses from the public, with a variety of concerns including potential loss of wildlife habitat, the number of homes in the development and that the village has insufficient infrastructure to accommodate it.
Objections were also lodged by Great and Little Plumstead Parish Council and the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).
Both the parish council and CPRE raised concerns that the development lies outside of the village's settlement boundaries.
Both projects have the approval of council officers, with their recommendations suggesting the planning committee delegate authority to the council's head of planning to grant outline permission.
