Another city pub is bidding to take to the streets with an application to offer outdoor seating.
The Ribs of Beef, on Wensum Street, has lodged a bid with Norwich City Council to place a row of tables and chairs on Fye Bridge, which is directly next door to the pub.
If approved, the plans would see six tables, each with two seats, set out along the pavement across the bridge, with the pub's existing advertising board providing a barrier at one end.
The application states the pub would also screen off each individual table using posts and advertising banners, with pedestrians still able to pass unobstructed.
It comes after another pub in the city centre, the Pig and Whistle on All Saints Green, lodged a similar bid aiming to offer this provision.
Submitted last month, the Pig and Whistle's application is looking to add outdoor seating for up to 18 customers, split across seven folding tables.
If its application is a success, it would see the pub become the latest venue in this particular part of the city to offer an al fresco option, with permission already granted to the Warings café on Westlegate.
Meanwhile, outdoor seating has also been re-installed at BrewDog, on Queens Street, after the privilege was taken away earlier in the summer.
In July, the craft beer bar was forced to reapply for its outdoor seating licence, after falling foul of council regulations.
A spokesman for the city council said at the time the application was necessary after a 'noncompliance' with the terms of their previous licence.
However, the seating has now been restored, after the bar was successful in its reapplication.
A spokesman for Norwich City Council confirmed BrewDog had been granted a new licence, allowing it to seat 24 people across six picnic-style benches.
The council will decide in due course whether both the Ribs of Beef and the Pig and Whistle have been successful in their respective applications.
Earlier in the month, the city council's regulatory committee decided against granting permission for the Iron House restaurant to place tables along St John Maddermarket.
