The six Waveney General Election candidates took part in an open meeting with pensioners at the Stella Maris Hall in Lowestoft on Tuesday afternoon.
It was organised by the Suffolk Pensioners' Association and they discussed issues regarding the National Pensioner's Convention (NPC) manifesto as well as infrastructure problems, post office closures and fox hunting.
Chris Brooks, chairman of the Lowestoft branch of the association, said he was pleased all the candidates had turned up and felt that pensioners were being listened to.
'They're paying more attention than they used to, simply because of the size of the electorate in pensioner terms,' said Mr Brooks.
'I was pleased that they all responded and took the time and effort to come out and speak to senior citizens.'
About 40 people attended.
