A former head of social work has failed in her bid to prove a council discriminated against her.

Donna Ashdown alleged at an employment tribunal this July that she was pressurised into resigning from Norfolk County Council's children's services department after her bosses failed to make adjustments for her illness.

But a ruling now published from Judge Postle dismissed her claims.

Ms Ashdown, from Bunwell, brought a claim of constructive dismissal, claiming she had to work up to 70 hours a week in 2016.

She was treated for cancer in 2001 and suffers from a condition called Lymphoedema.

It means she has swellings in her arm and can not drive long distances. She also suffers from fatigue, the tribunal was told.

But Judge Postle ruled she did not need to work excessive hours and there was no discrimination, with her contract only requiring her to work 37 hours a week.
