Former Cromer mayor Yvonne Nolan, of The Warren, Cromer, has been nominated for one of two vacancies in Cromer's Suffield Park ward.

Well-known restaurateur, entertainer and photographer Andreas Yiasimi, of St Mary's Road, Cromer, has also been nominated. Mr Yiasimi, standing as a Liberal Democrat, was elected to North Norfolk District Council in a February by-election.

As long as neither Mrs Nolan or Mr Yiasimi withdraw before noon on Wednesday August 28, both will become town councillors.

In Holt, two people have applied for one vacancy caused by the resignation of Barrie Roberts. There will therefore be a by-election on September 19.

The nominees, both from Holt, are Wendy Gray, of Norwich Road, and Michael Hill, of Lees Yard, off Bull Street.

The Cromer vacancies were caused by the death in May of community stalwart Vera Woodcock and the resignation of Scott Eastwood.
