Labour leadership contender Jeremy Corbyn has received the backing of three branches in Norfolk.
Norwich North, Great Yarmouth and North Norfolk members have thrown their weight behind the Islington North MP, who has called for spending cuts to be slowed and who is opposed to privatisation, academy school and the Trident nuclear deterrent.
Norwich South and South West Norfolk Labour members have backed shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper. Norfolk's only Labour MP Clive Lewis nominated Mr Corbyn, while Eastern region Euro MP Richard Howitt is supporting Ms Cooper.
Private Labour polling has reportedly put 66-year-old leftwinger Mr Corbyn ahead in the first round of voting. The two nominations from Norwich North and Great Yarmouth help put him in the lead in terms of CLP nominations.
