It was a case of once bitten, twice shy-d at for Mid Norfolk Conservative candidate George Freeman!

While visiting the Shipdham Bank Holiday Monday traditional fete, Mr Freeman ended up in the stocks for the second time during the campaign.

On St George's Day in Wymondham he had watery sponges bombarded at him and then on Monday the missiles were custard pies.

'I suspect many voters would happily throw something much worse,' joked Mr Freeman.

'I was delighted to do my bit to help raise some money for the Shipdham Toddlers Group, having stopped off on my nine village tour. All of us in politics have a duty to try and rebuild trust, and my campaign It Starts Here! is about rebuilding political engagement at the grass roots.'
