Local bands have been getting the chance to have their music heard by a wider audience as part of the Lord Mayor's Celebrations.

The live music started at 1pm in Chapelfield Gardens and this afternoon it has all been about the best local talent being given a chance to shine.

Many families flocked to the park to enjoy picnics and a good crowd gathered to listen to the music.

Norwich group We Can't Dance were one of the acts to take to the stage as part of the BBC Norfolk Introducing local band showcase.

The indie-punk outfit formed in October 2009 through Norwich's Access to Music and as families made the most of a spell of sun, the band soon had people toe-tapping, dancing and hand-clapping.

They were followed on stafe by cult Norwich band Bearsuit who played a brisk and pacy 30-minute set before heading off to another festival in Leeds.

It included songs from their new album The Phantom Forest, as well as one of their most popular songs Foxy Boxer.

Other acts include Twisted Piglet, COLL and Interim Records and Cakes and Ale.
