Local police officers will be helping with a litter pick at the scene where a teenager from London was shot last week.

Officers from the Norwich East safer neighbourhood team will attend the litter pick alongside local residents, after concerns were raised by residents about the state of the park where the shooting occurred.

A 19-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to the back in the early hours of Wednesday last week. Since the incident council workers have attended to trim back overgrown hedges at the West End Street park.

From 6pm tonight, residents and police with bags provided by the city council set about clearing what they can from the park.

It comes after residents raised concerns about drug dealing in the area, including discarded needles.

A public meeting is scheduled for 7.30pm on July 11 at the Fat Cat Percy pub on Adelaide Street to discuss the future of the park.
