The lineup for this year’s highly anticipated Deepdale Festival has now been revealed.

Now in its 3rd year, the annual music and arts festival in Burnham Deepdale, near Wells, will take place across September 27, 28 and 29 and will feature musicians from East Anglia and beyond.

With a particular focus on folk music, the lineup also features artists of several different genres who will be spread across four different stages.

Chris Haycock, festival director, said: "I've always loved putting together lineups but here at Deepdale I've been given the freedom to really develop something with personality and quality.

"When my invitation to folk musician Martin Carthy was accepted, I knew the 2019 Deepdale Festival would be something seriously special."

Friday's lineup includes exciting Norfolk band Morganway headlining, as well as the core of the acclaimed Shackleton Trio with two other musicians to become the Cobbler Bob String Band.

Also on Friday will be the folk music of Tilly Moses and her band, fresh from the recording of her second album, as well as the John Ward Band, South African Music Award nominee Josie Field, local songwriting star Ben Denny Mo and guitarist Isaac Dalglish.

Headlining the Saturday will be Man The Lifeboats with their stomping folk rock music, while on the Orchard Stage will be Kitty Macfarlane, singing songs from her Namer of Clouds album, followed by multi-influenced Cambridge band Fred's House to close out that stage.

Other Saturday highlights include classical alt-folk duo Fran & Flora, the voodoo rock of Das Fenster & The Alibis, the electric blues of Dove & Boweevil, rising Norfolk country music star Lucy Grubb and Eastern European influenced folk from Cut Throat Francis.

And on Sunday, both Martin Carthy and Radio 2 Folk Award nominees Gentlemen of Few are set to perform.

They are preceded by Wales' The Goat Roper Rodeo Band, fresh from launching their latest album.

The day will feature music from across the world, including Americana and country music from Smith & Brewer, The Tin Heart Troubadours in a special concert at St Mary's Church with a string quartet, local folk band Rattlebox and songwriters Marina Florance, Bernard Hoskin and Alton Wahlberg.
