Wells inshore lifeboat was launched just before 2.30pm.
The couple, who are on holiday in the area, were cut off as they walked their dog on the eastern side of Scolt Head, a spit of sand stretching between Brancaster and Burnham Overy Staithe.
The lifeboat arrived at 2.45pm, picked up the couple and took them to Burnham Overy, where they were met by the coastguard and returned to their vehicle.
