A historic letter sent by famed army commander Lord Montgomery and worth about £2,000 has been stolen from a home in Scratby, near Great Yarmouth.
Police are appealing for help in tracing the which went missing between 10.30am and 7pm on Wednesday from a property in Beach Road. Officers said the elderly occupant noticed the framed letter she was sent by Montgomery more than 70 years ago was missing from a sideboard. The letter is a A4 typed and in a dark frame.
Police are appealing to anyone with information – or anyone who may have been offered the letter for sale or to be valued – to contact DC Kirk Wilson on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
