Organisers of Lent Lunches at Norwich Cathedral have given a special thank you to Sainsbury's in Thorpe St Andrew who supplied fresh bread for their weekly Lent lunches.
During Lent, a group from the Norwich Cathedral community organise a Lenten lunch on each Tuesday from 12.30-1.30pm consisting of a large cup of homemade soup, bread, a piece of fruit and a cup of tea or coffee.
This is open to all, with donations welcomed towards this year's charities St Martin's Housing Trust, which works with the homeless, and Leeway, a domestic abuse charity.
Last year the Lent Lunches generated £880 in charity donations and this year it is hoped that even more can be raised.
Elisabeth Hill, one of the organisers, said: 'Our Lent Lunches not only continues the Benedictine tradition of hospitality but provides a welcome social occasion for participants and raises money for worthy causes.'
