More than a hundred people attended an event to offer their opinions on the future economy of a coastal town.

Following its recent designation of a Coastal Community Team (CCT), a consultation was held on February 18, at Buckenham Art Gallery, to discuss the future of the economy in Southwold.

Councillor Michael Ladd, Waveney's cabinet member for Tourism and Economic Development said: 'Visitors were able to express their views on over 40 different possible initiatives which could feature in the CCT's economic plan.

'Much of the feedback received reflected the importance of preserving the unique character of the town, whilst supporting appropriate developments which will help boost the local economy.

'We are still keen to hear more views from those living in, working in and visiting Southwold and the surrounding area and would encourage those unable to attend the event to complete our online survey.'
