Lagan Construction administration will not affect work at RAF Marham
Work on a £135m upgrade at RAF Marham is not affected by one of its contractors putting parts of its business into administration.
Belfast-based Lagan Construction Group was one of two main contractors awarded the contract to build new hangars, a maintenance building and operations HQ at the Norfolk base, in readiness for the arrival of the RAF’s new Lightning stealth bomber.
The firm confirmed it was placing four of its 30 businesses into administration.
Its chairman Michael Lagan said: “We hope that the process of administration will be smooth and that disruption to both projects and jobs will be minimal.”
A sopokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: “This announcement has no impact on the current works at RAF Marham.
“The project is being delivered through a joint venture and we have received assurance that it will progress as planned.”
