King's Lynn Foodbank is on the move after its busiest year to date.
The service is moving its distribution centre back to the Purfleet Trust, at St Ann's Fort, after more than two years operating from Lynn's Red Cross building.
The move takes place over the coming weekend, with the doors opening to the public at 12.30pm on Monday, March 5.
The foodbank continues to help local people in crisis by providing emergency food to people who are referred to the service by doctors, health visitors, social workers and police.
As it was expecting, 2017 was its busiest year to date – the foodbank fed 4,322 people, which was a 16pc rise on 2016, including nearly 1,500 children.
Benefit delays and changes accounted for 43pc of vouchers which were issued, with low income, such as zero hour contracts, accounting for 29pc - a significant increase from 2016.
In addition, the Foodbank fed 430 people in January 2018, which is the charity's busiest month since it first open in 2011.
Foodbank trustee Andy King said, 'we've been so grateful to the support of the British Red Cross over the past couple of years, and we're looking forward to working closely with the Purfleet Trust again.
'We're still on the look-out for a good, affordable property in a central location where people can receive a friendly welcome, food, and assistance with managing their situation.
'We're happy to consider sharing the building with others who share our vision.'
The Downham Market Foodbank remains unaffected by the changes.
Schools, churches, businesses and individuals donate non-perishable, in-date food to the foodbank.
Large collections often take place as part of Harvest Festival celebrations and food is also collected at supermarkets.
Volunteers sort food to check that it's in date and pack it into boxes ready to be given to people in need. Clients bring their voucher to the foodbank and redeem it for three days' emergency food.
