King’s Lynn pupils enjoy The Mart

Pupils a King's Lynn school were treated to The Mart to themselves when the showmen opened specially for them on Wednesday.

King's Lynn's annual Mart is in full swing, with the town's Tuesday Market Place packed with all the fun of the fair.

And pupils from the Churchill Park School enjoyed all the attractions during their special visit.

About 130 youngsters with learning difficulties were invited to join West Norfolk Mayor Zipha Christopher for the treat.

The official opening on Saturday saw hundreds of enthusiastic thrill-seekers arrive at the venue, when Mrs Christopher performed the historic and traditional opening ceremony.

'It is always very exciting to come to this event and I'd like to give a huge welcome to the showmen,' she said.

'I first came to the Mart in 1965, shortly after I moved to King's Lynn and I've loved it ever since.
