He’s used to ducking and diving during swashbuckling adventures in Hollywood, but for one night only this Pirates of the Caribbean actor swapped his sword for screams.
Kevin McNally, who is best known for portraying Joshamee Gibbs in the Disney-owned film series, came face to face with the undead once again when he hopped aboard the Loco Horror Train at the Mid-Norfolk Railway in Dereham on Monday night.
Supporting his daughter Rachel McNally - who was successfully cast at Rat Girl following an intense audition of hundreds of scare acting hopefuls - the English actor travelled across the country to enjoy the event.
And ironically, missed the earlier ride he had originally been booked on due to train delays between London and Norwich.
A spokesperson from Loco UK said: “It has been an amazing ride bringing the Horror Train to the UK this year, especially to a location as fantastic as the Mid-Norfolk Railway.
“To attract someone like Kevin, and to hear his positive comments about the Horror Train, is just the best ending ever to what has been a great run.
“We are looking forward to making the Horror Train even bigger and better next year.”
Mr McNally posed with fans after the ride and was also pictured standing proudly with daughter Rachel.
He addressed the cast at the end of the night, describing the Horror Train as “really fun” and praised the efforts of all involved.
“It’s great,” he said. “It’s like being in your own horror film but it’s also like being close-up to horror theatre because there’s a great soundtrack and a great soundscape, lights, and then the characters you have leap out at you and you interact with them as best you can when you’re not screaming.
“I’ve never been on a ride which takes me on a journey like this.
“If you want to come to the Horror Train, come prepared with a strong heart and two pairs of underpants.”
The Loco Horror Train UK ran for a total of ten nights and extra time slots were added due to demand. There is already a waiting list for next year’s tickets. Visit www.horrortrain.co.uk for more information about Loco Horror Train.
