“Are you the King of the Jews?”
John - 18, 33
“Are you the King of the Jews?”
. . . . . . . . . . . .
Pilate is perplexed. He is faced with a man who looks like a common peasant and yet someone who the Jewish priests seem desperate to get rid of. If Jesus is a king, then this claim could seriously undermine his authority as Roman governor. But Jesus' reply sought to move him from an earthly perspective to a heavenly one. A leap of faith that Pilate was unable to make.
