Comedian Jim Davidson has announced he will be performing two shows at Great Yarmouth's Britannia Pier as part of an extended tour that reflects on his 40 year career.

Mr Davidson will be bringing his 40 Years On show to the pier on August 1 and 29.

The show looks back at his triumphs and tragedies, from his breakthrough on New Faces in 1976, through to winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2014.

He said: 'I'm really enjoying sharing 40 Years On with audiences in theatres across the country. The piece is an honest and raw reflection of my life over the last 40 years both in the spotlight and personally.'

Mr Davidson has strong links with Yarmouth and had run its Wellington Pier and is patron of the Caister lifeboat crew. His love affair with the resort stretches back to when he visited as young boy more than 50 years also.
