Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk people who take part in the dance-based exercise programme gathered at the C3 Centre in Cambridge on Saturday (October 7) to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.

Eight instructors led the dancing through four challenging class segments from 1pm to 5pm which featured Dance Mixx, Flip Fusion, Latin to the Core and Express & Stretch.

Sarah Gray, Jazzercise co-ordinator for Newmarket, Soham, Burwell, Thetford and Red Lodge, said: 'We all know someone who has lived through or, sadly, not made it through breast cancer.

'Many of our customers have had the disease and the charity, Breast Cancer Now, needs to be well-funded and supported to continue to make strides with prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

'I am delighted to announce that our overall fundraising target for this mega workout was £10,000 and we will have raised this sum when all the sponsorship comes in from supporters via JustGiving

'Well done to everyone who took part for their energy and enthusiasm. And not forgetting all our friends who supported our Jazzercisers with generous donations. Thanks to everyone involved.'

It is a fusion of jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, and kick boxing movements. Benefits include increased cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility, as well as that overall 'feel good' factor that comes from working out.
