A bizarre looking waxwork of singing and Neighbours star Jason Donovan in Great Yarmouth has been discussed by the Australian on ITV’s Loose Women this afternoon.

The waxwork of Jason and Kyle Minogue was one of many models on display at the former House of Wax on Regent Road and which was sold in 2014.

While discussing his up and coming tour with the panel, the 49-year-old said: “If you go to Great Yarmouth that is where you will find one of the greatest examples of wax.

“A candle maker could do a better job than those guys.”

The Great Yarmouth attraction had cult status, known for its waxworks which bore little resemblance to their subjects.

Peter and Jane Hayes, who ran the Regent Road business for 58 years, called time on it in 2012 due to ill health.

In 2013 Jason spoke to this paper about the waxworks.

He said: “Believe me, those waxworks have been the subject of many a conversation, what can you say, really? They’re not the most flattering representation I might have hoped for.

A shop dummy from Next looks more like me than that waxwork does. Practically anything looks more like me than it does.”

“If I bought it, I couldn’t think what I’d do with it other than melt it down as quickly as possible.”
