Inquest into death of motorcyclist involved in A146 collision to begin

Jack Samuel Rogers, who died at the age of 25, was riding along the road on July 6, 2017, when his motorbike was involved in a crash at Chedgrave, near Loddon.

Travelling towards Lowestoft, his Suzuki GSX-R motorbike was in collision with a blue Vauxhall Vectra which had turned right at the junction with Norwich Road.

Mr Rogers, who was from Rockland St Mary and known as ‘Jacko’, died at the scene.

An inquest into the digger driver’s death was first opened on July 12, 2017, before a full inquest was scheduled for January last year.

At a subsequent hearing, area coroner Yvonne Blake ordered another pre-inquest review to take place later on in 2018 while a file was prepared for the Crown Prosecution Service CPS).

In May last year the senior coroner for Norfolk, Jacqueline Lake, adjourned the inquest further after stating that Norfolk and Suffolk’s Roads Policing Unit were still obtaining evidence.

A later hearing set a full inquest date for March 20, 2019.
