The six-and-a-half year old, from Costessey, completed the marathon trek to raise money so the 16th Beaver colony could go on a trip together and 'do something fun'.

It took him four hours to compete the ride around Norwich, cycling via Marriott's Way and Lenwade before returning to the Scouts' headquarters at The Street in Costessey.

Jack said he raised about £400 through the bike ride, smashing his target of £250.

He said: 'I enjoyed all of it. The hills were a little bit hard. Daddy helped me a bit through the mud. There was a lot of it, and one massive puddle.'

Beavers and Scouts put a ribbon across the finish line for him to ride through.

He said: 'At the end I had a piece of cake and I was awarded a trophy.'

Jack's dad, Lee Gosling, who rode along with him in support, said: 'It was fantastic. He made it the whole way from start to finish.'
