A new restaurant in Norwich has hosted a celebration of the RAF to raise cash for a fund supporting its personnel.
The Ivy Norwich Brasserie hosted the event as part of the RAF’s centenary celebrations and to raise funds for its Benevolent Fund, which supports serving and retired personnel and their families.
The evening, held last week, included a talk by Group Captain Townsend, station commander at RAF Marham, and ended with a raffle and auction with experiences donated by The Ivy Collection.
Group captain Townsend said: “Just as the support of the local community is vital to the ongoing success of RAF Marham, the support of the RAF Benevolent Fund is integral to the ongoing success of its personnel. I was delighted to speak at this unique event to share the exciting future of RAF Marham’s newest recruit, the F35B Lightning aircraft, whilst raising vital funds for our welfare charity, the RAF Benevolent Fund.”
