It's not a car you'd want to try to fit into a tight parking space but if Audi's luxurious and comfortable A8 long-wheelbase saloon wasn't sufficiently spacious for your needs, the German car-maker has announced a special order 6.3m long limousine.

Created following an order from a European customer, the A8 L extended is 6.36m (20.9ft) long with a 4.22m (13.8ft) wheel base – meaning an Audi A3 could fit almost completely between its front and back wheels.

The extended section is made from the same strong and lightweight aluminium as the rest of the car, creating a space big enough for six occupants, while the roof panel contains a 2.4m (7.9ft) glass panel to maximise light into the cabin.

Under the bonnet there is a 3.0-litre TFSI turbo petrol engine with the upgraded braking system from the S8. Audi now says it already has further orders for the A8 L extended although remains coy over the price.
