Norwich shoppers have been left confused this week after a large metal structure appeared on Hay Hill off Gentleman's Walk in the heart of the city centre.
But the city's latest construction isn't part of an alien invasion or Norwich Trump supporters erecting a wall in his honour.
From tomorrow night the much anticipated Tunnel of Light will send sparkle across the city during the festive season.
The 50,000 LED light extravaganza is the first of its kind in the country, and will run along Hay Hill and along the sides of the St Peter Mancroft Church.
The tunnel will be 45m long, 4m high and 6m wide and be powered by 50,000 pulsating LED beams of light.
The impressive structure will be located on Hay Hill by the side of St Peter Mancroft Church, and will be switched on nightly from November 17 to January 5.
But the tunnel has not been without controversy with local volunteers complaining it will affect the soup kitchens run for the homeless at the same location.
The Christmas Lights will be turned on in Norwich tomorrow at 7pm at City Hall by Norwich FC Chairman Ed Balls as he swaps the twinkle toes of Strictly for the city's glittering Christmas celebrations.
There will also be live entertainment across the city and light projections on Norwich Castle and City Hall.
