A new inspector has been appointed to lead police Safer Neighbourhood Teams in Diss, Long Stratton and Harleston.

Insp Alice Scott started her career at Norfolk Police as a response officer in Diss and returns to the area as inspector after Insp Gavin Money, who previously led the teams, moved to Sprowston covering policing in the Broadland district.

Insp Scott has previously worked in the Custody Investigation Unit in Norwich and has also worked in CID, Special Branch and the Serious and Organised Crime Unit. She starts her new role after leaving a post in the force's intelligence directorate.

She said: 'I'm very pleased to return to the area and I look forward to working closely with the three teams and our partner agencies to tackle crime and improve the quality of life for local residents.'

'South Norfolk is starting to benefit from a greater visible policing presence thanks to the new Policing Model which was launched last week and I'm confident the model will prove successful in improving links between police and local communities.'
