A 47-year-old construction worker died after becoming trapped between a dumper truck and a lorry, an inquest heard.

Jason Hickman had been attempting to connect a tow chain between the two vehicles at a site in Watlington in West Norfolk when the incident happened.

At an inquest review in Norwich on Monday, area coroner Yvonne Blake said: 'A Jewson lorry attended the site but became stuck in the mud.

'A dumper truck being used by a fellow employee was going to tow the lorry out of the mud, and Mr Hickman was applying a towing chain from the truck to the lorry.'

She said the dumper truck had to reverse closer to the lorry, but the driver's foot slipped off the brake, causing the vehicle to 'jerk back'.

Ms Blake said: 'Mr Hickman was trapped between the two vehicles and died as a result of his injuries.'

The incident happened on December 14 last year. The inquest was adjourned to a provisional date of February 11, 2019.
