The inquest has opened into the death of a much-loved 19-year-old from Cromer who helped to lead the successful campaign for a skatepark in the town.

Nyall Brown, from Mayfield Drive, died at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on May 22, the Norwich inquest heard.

Mr Brown's father Mearl Brown provided evidence to the court.

The pathological report by Dr Tim Leary confirmed the cause of death and the inquest has been adjourned to 11.30am on October 8.

Mr Brown was a leading member of the group that pushed through the construction of a skatepark on The Meadow, Cromer.

The funeral for Mr Brown, a head host at The Grove in Cromer and a former pupil at Cromer High School, is at Cromer Parish Church on June 20 at 3pm.

Those attending are asked to wear something green in his memory, with donations to Mind and East Anglian Air Ambulance at the service.
