Injured woman being airlifted from beach at Sidestrand in Norfolk

Police, ambulance, coastguard and air ambulance are battling to airlift an injured woman from a North Norfolk beach.

With the tide coming in, the emergency services are working to rescue the 50-year woman, whose injury has not been revealed, but who was described by an East of England Ambulance Trust spokesman as 'conscious and breathing'.

The drama began at 11.30am, when police were called to the cliffs at Tower Lane, Sidestrand, near Cromer.

Officers quickly called for assistance from the coastguard and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The incident is ongoing.
