A planned new industrial estate will create about 300 jobs in the Norwich area, developers are claiming.

Property company Wrenbridge has submitted a planning application to build 28 trade and commercial units to form Salhouse Business Park at land in Salhouse Road, Sprowston.

The seven-acre development would stand next to the existing Crown UCP warehouse, and include units suitable for storage, distribution and light industrial use, ranging in size from 2,000 to 20,000sq ft. All would be available to buy or rent.

Chris White, head of asset management at Cambridge-based Wrenbridge, said: “This is an extremely rare opportunity to develop prime employment land in the city, which we anticipate will be met with strong local and national interest.

“The development will provide unique opportunities to occupiers to rent or buy individual units in this exciting and established location and is expected to bring in the region of 300 jobs to the area.”

The company's planning application will go before Broadland District Council planners.

”We hope to receive planning permission for the development around August, being on site developing in September and completing the buildings in quarter two next year,” said Mr White.

Agents Savills and Bidwells have been appointed to act on Wrenbridge's behalf.
