A giant offshore support ship which was docked in Lowestoft harbour for 10 days has left the town.
The Ievoli Ivory, which was in the town to be fitted with state of the art robotic technology, left the port at high tide today at 11.45am, in order to allow its helipad to clear the raised Bascule Bridge.
It will now travel to Malmo where it is estimated to arrive at around 4pm tomorrow, according to the shipping traffic tracking website MarineTraffic.
The ship, owned by Italian shipping company Marnavi SpA, had arrived into Lowestoft from the Italian port of Ravenna on Sunday, March 25.
It arrived as part of a new partnership between James Fisher Marine Services and Next Geosolutions, companies which specialise in subsea (underwater) services and engineering.
The multi-purpose supply ship sails under the Italian flag, and was built in the Selah shipyard in Turkey.
