A series of special events have been announced to help ensure this year's Halloween is the spookiest and scariest yet.

The Fisher Theatre, on Broad Street, in Bungay, are daring people sample the terrifying treats it has in store for them.

A spokesman for the theatre said: 'We have pulled out all the stops this year to give Bungay a Halloween it will never forget.'

This year's main event, 'The Curse of the Black Death', promises to be a scare like no other.

Organised by the Upshoot Theatre Company, the interactive production combines the delights of the theatre with the terror of a horror-maze.

The show, which last 20 minutes, places the audience at its centre.

As the participants are led around the historic ruins of Bungay Castle the choices they make during the show ultimately determine the play's ending.

Performances will begin on Saturday, October 28, and are certain to provide a unique and thrilling experience.

The same evening an equally spooky prospect awaits those who do not wish to venture to the castle as production team Strange Fascination return to the Fisher Theatre.

Following on from the success of last summer's Alice in Wonderland, the team will return with 'Ghost Stories by M.R James'.

On Monday, October 30, the theatre will host a horror movie night.

The film of choice is 'Under the Shadow', Iranian horror film which provides an eerie dive into the terror of post-revolution, war torn Tehran of the 1980s.

This year's Halloween treats conclude with the grand finale of 'Bungay's Pumpkin Party', at Bungay Castle on Tuesday, October 31.

This free community event designed for children and families includes party games, fancy dress and ghost stories for younger children.

It will also feature a pumpkin display created by local businesses.

As the sun goes down, adults and older children will have a second chance to experience 'The Curse of the Black Death' to round off the spookiest of seasons.

Tickets for all shows are available from the Fisher Theatre box office by calling 01986 897130.
