More than 30 people have asked for details about three new job vacancies at the Wells Community Hospital.
The hospital is recruiting its first three members of staff - a matron, volunteer
co-ordinator and senior healthcare assistant - since being taken over by a local charitable trust.
Hospital trustee Peter Rainsford described the interest being shown as a “strong response”.
The hospital, which was once threatened with closure but was saved after a determined EDP-backed campaign, is gradually beginning to develop its services.
Outpatient clinics are now being run and the long-term plan is to provide more than 20 new beds by 2008.
For a job application pack, call the hospital on 01328 711996 or e-mail admin@ wellshospital.org.uk.
The closing date for completed applications is March 2 and interviews will be held on March 8 and 9.
